The Water Quality Control Division has been awarded funds from the EPA to implement the EPA Emerging Contaminants for Small or Disadvantaged Communities (EC-SDC) Grant Program. The EC-SDC Grant Program awards grants to public water systems in small or disadvantaged communities to address emerging contaminants in drinking water. Eligible emerging contaminant projects include PFAS, manganese, and any other contaminants on the EPA Drinking Water Contaminant Candidate List. The program has two categories available for grant applications:
- Tier 1 Planning & Design projects to address emerging contaminants:
- Project duration up to 24 months
- Maximum grant of $300,000
- Tier 2 Infrastructure projects to address emerging contaminants:
- Project duration up to three years
- Maximum grant of $30 million at $10 million per year

The next request for Applications opens July 6th and the division will be accepting applications through August 4th on the EC-SDC website.
